Jacob E. Reiter, President, founded Verde Capital Corp. in 2011 and is responsible for strategic investor, operator and platform development,(investment strategies, technology and risk management.)
As the product of a fourth generation real estate family, Jake has several decades of experience developing capital solutions for real estate operators including developers, funds and REITs on a national basis. Jake brings a practical approach to providing equity and structuring debt for development projects, acquisitions and recapitalizations in all asset classes. With a unique and broad-based background in corporate and leveraged finance, public/private sector transactions, capital markets and strategic tax planning, Jake is able to facilitate maximum asset values and returns for operators and investors.
Jake is a Research Sponsor of the Zell/Lurie Center and Ballard Executive Speaker, a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, an ICSC member and supports Verde's sponsorship of ULI. Jake also sits on the executive boards of Jewish Federation Real Estate, the Philadelphia Real Estate Council, and serves as Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation.
Jake attended Washington University in St. Louis and Harvard University.
Maureen Menarde, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for transaction sourcing and structuring in addition to management of all facets of the firm’s day to day operations.
Maureen has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, having held senior positions in the equity and debt capital markets (Capmark Finance and predecessors). Maureen has extensive experience structuring equity investments, as well as senior and mezzanine debt and also maintained positions in risk, portfolio management, valuation and reporting. Maureen earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, and earned an MBA in Finance from LaSalle University.
Maureen is an active member of the Urban Land Institute with both the Philadelphia Chapter Advisory Board and ULI Housing Council.
Owen Jones, Director of Underwriting and Portfolio Reporting is responsible for transaction sourcing and structuring, as well as investment and portfolio modeling.
Owen has 14 years of commercial real estate experience across all major property types and roles in equity and debt capital markets. Owen has significant expertise structuring commercial real estate capital (over $3BN closed career to date) with due diligence, valuation, and asset management skill-sets in addition to strong proficiency in analytics and modeling. Owen previously held roles at Capmark Finance and Wells Fargo Bank and earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Owen is a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Urban Land Institute and the Philadelphia Real Estate Council.
Gary Prugh, Director of Portfolio Management, is responsible for portfolio monitoring, financial reporting, asset management and valuation services.
Gary has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, across all major property types. His background includes institutional equity financial reporting and portfolio management- at Capmark Investment Management and Lend Lease Real Estate Investments- as well as underwriting, acquisitions and dispositions, real estate valuation and investor reporting. Gary is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI). Gary earned his degree in Economics from Millersville University and received a Master of Science degree in Finance & Investment from Drexel University.
Chris Philipps, Senior Portfolio Manager, Director, is responsible for evaluating new opportunities and managing existing investments including projects under development.
Chris previously served as Director for Walker & Dunlop's Philadelphia Capital Markets team where he was responsible for originating and placing both debt and equity for multifamily and mixed-use properties.
Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Chris was involved in the structuring, underwriting and origination of over $6 billion of multifamily transactions during a 7+ year career at Berkadia. Chris was also instrumental in launching Berkadia's Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac Small Loan Programs, served as Head of Small Loan Originations and founded MultiFi, a digital lending platform.
Before joining Berkadia, Chris held roles at Stoltz Real Estate Partners and JP Morgan Chase & Co.
Chris graduated from The College of New Jersey with his bachelor’s in finance and a minor in accounting. Additionally, Chris is a CFA® charterholder.
